Shipping charges have been increasing steadily and sometimes I'm surprised by how much it costs to ship small boxes to different parts of the country. I ship about 1% of the candy I make through this site, with the rest of it going out in large boxes to stores via FedEx Ground, which works great for them, but really isn't cost effective for small boxes.
I use the US Postal Service's Priority Mail to ship candy ordered from this site. There are regional flat-rate boxes that can save quite a bit over regular priority rates when shipping orders to people on the West Coast. It's going to cost more to send even small items like the Caramel Cashew Bars to the East Coast or Midwest.
The rates in the shopping cart are based on the rates I've looked up to get a box with a certain amount of candy in it to the East Coast from Oregon.
If your shipping ends up costing me less than what you are charged, I will make up the difference using Caramel Cashew Bars. For example, $5 of difference in shipping will get an extra 2 bars in your box.
